Barbara (Echols) Robinson

Barbara Robinson Died unexpectedly on July 2, 2009, going home to be with her Lord. Born August 24, 1941 in Carlsbad, NM to Rev. Charlie & Alta Echols who preceded her in death. Barbara graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing, MI. She married William Robinson who survives her after 45 years of marriage. Also surviving are daughters Karyn (Paul) Atallah of Lansing, MI and Karla (Jeffrey) VanWormer of DeWitt, MI; 6 grandchildren, Kyler, Kalyn, Kalyb & Keyan VanWormer and Anthony & Layna Atallah. She is survived by 2 sisters Virginia (Dennis) Waltz of Lansing, MI, Lorene (Jerry) Weatherby of Brooksville, FL; 2 brothers Richard (Johanna) Echols of Jefferson City, MO & Marvin (Lillie) Echols of Clovis, CA as well as many nieces and nephews. Barbara was a member of First Assembly of God Church of Greater Lansing and one of the highlights of her life was traveling to the Holy Land in 1981 with her husband and church group. Barbara retired from the Lansing School District as a secretary in 2006. She was a superb caregiver, caring for her mother with Alzheimer's disease for many years. Her grandchildren were her life and she took many vacations with her whole family; the most recent trips being to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in February and to Mackinac Island, MI in June. Thanks, Mom for your caring service to all of us. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 7 at First Assembly of God Church, 2717 West Rd., East Lansing with Rev. Curt Dalaba officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Assembly of God Church of Greater Lansing.
